UPDATE AUGUST 7, 2013

The City of Vancouver is inviting ‘expressions of interest’ to tenant the CBC cultural amenity space at 750 Hamilton. Approximately 8,500sf of finished space will be available for long-term lease in mid-2014. Eligible organizations must be Vancouver-based cultural not-for-profits with a focus on performing, media arts or festivals.

  • Deadline for Submission of Expressions of Interest: September 17th
  • Mandatory Site Visit (pre-registration required): Aug 21st or Sept 4th

The CBC cultural amenity space may be used for the administrative support of cultural activities including office, board/meeting/education rooms, reference/research space, small-scale rehearsal and other support activities.

Currently the space is in “shell” condition with no services, however funds are available to improve the space in conjunction with the selected non-profit(s). The targeted date for selection of the non-profit tenant is Fall 2013, with design and construction of the space through the winter of 2013/14 and tenancy in summer 2014.

The City is seeking performing, media or festival organizations that will benefit from and add to the cultural campus at the CBC site. In particular, the successful applicant/tenant will have some priority access to the CBC community use spaces consisting of the outdoor stage and indoor studio per the terms and agreement with the CBC. The cultural amenity space will be leased at nominal rent on a long-term basis (5 or 10 years tbc) with subsequent renewal options totalling approximately 25-30 years. The successful applicant will be required to pay their share of common and building operating costs and their own facility, admin and program costs.
